Most of my playmates and play partners are on FetLife, so the list would be pretty long! I guess we'd also have to define sexual. Some people include kink & S/M fantasies as being exclusively sexual, some don't. I fairly sure that at least 90% of the people who make my toes curl know. Many of them use that information against me. It's a beautiful thing.

Do you ever feel like your life could very easily go one direction unless you try very, very hard to get it to go in another?
Absolutely. I still fight against stagnation, and I win that fight most days. If I stop fighting, then I'll very quickly go from being who I am to being... well, not a contributing member of society. This year I hope to make some strides in the direction of being significantly more affective at my goals and aspirations. I'll be trying very, very hard.
In the coming year, do you think you will a.) do something you've never done before? b.) do something you'll regret c.) do something the old you wouldn't even have considered or d.) all of the above?
I certainly hope for d! I seek out new experiences- don't always like them (yet am thankful for the experience even if I never want to repeat it) and the old me wouldn't have even conceived that I'd enjoy many of the things I'm passionate about so I can only hope that I'll do a bit of all of the above. I already have some plans to go place I've never been before, so that's a good start.

When was the last time you gave flowers?
Flowers plural? That's likely been years- I gave my dad a bouquet for his birthday a long time ago. More recently, I've given a single rose to crrreature (I thought it was our anniversary and he was out hosting an event without him- it was an orange rose) and a rose each to two of my playmates when we were out on a date last year to commemorate the forming of our tricycle. Both times were inspired by someone walking by with a basket of roses and me enjoying the color and wanting to celebrate the moment.
I am a firm believer in using the word "Cunt". Howdo you react internally to this word. Do you use it?
I'm not a big fan, but every word has it's place. I rarely use/like others to use slang in reference to my own body parts. I'm a genderqueer and have bit of a Victorian sensibility, so I've actually never sought out having any slang utilized, much less the one you mention.
I don't usually use it, but that's more indicative of the fact that I try to limit my use of harsh language in general. I've caught myself using it recently as an insult, but I'm not a big fan of forming such habits. I do so strive to be a gentelman...

What would your dream job look like?
I would teach on sex-positive topics at least monthly, have the opportunity to offer performance art regularly, travel to a variety of locations to do the previous two things, have my written work published regularly, work as a consultant for media, manage my household and work on projects that I care deeply about all while being able to pay my bills and contribute to causes that I care about. I call this dream job "Being a Professional Julian."

Do you have a favorite dessert? If so, what is it and why?
Do you have a favorite dessert? If so, what is it and why?
Answer here
what book would you say has had the most influence on your life to date and why?
This is a tough one. In my childhood "The Chronicles of Narnia" were my favorite series and those books really influenced my belief that there isn't "one true path" and my sense of adventure. as an early teen "Fahrenheit 451" and" Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" changed my sense of the way the world could/should work- obviously in different ways."The Vampire Chronicles" were the first "sexy" books I ever read, and I'm certain they had an influence. Very tough. I guess if I had to chose one, I'd have to go with the "Chronicles of Narnia"- and if I have to narrow it down even more than that, I read the "Horse and His Boy" more than any other.

have you ever cheated in a relatioship? if so why? was it worth it? did you confess or keep it discrete?
I haven't cheated. The reason, in addition to the fact that I strive to live an honest and noble life, is I haven't found the need. With the exception of my first serious relationship, I've always maintained poly and/or open relationships. I have engaged in acts that have made a partner uncomfortable, but each time it has been because we hadn't yet set boundaries, or because they didn't mention they were uncomfortable until after the fact. In most cases, simply communicating how they felt would have resolved any issues.
On the other hand, I have been cheated on by various partners and to varying degrees. Each and every time their actions were dishonest, and in most cases completely unnecessary. Lying is not acceptable, I cannot think of a situation in a mature adult relationship- particularly one claiming to practice "responsible non-monogamy"- where cheating would be acceptable. Being cheated on is not a good feeling. It is particularly unpleasant when a partner had to practice layers of dishonestly to do so. Interestingly, almost every time I've been cheated on the person in question has also disregarded their (and therefore my) personal saftey while in the act; disregarding safer sex and/or safer BDSM practices. It seems not to be a coincidence that these things go hand in hand.

Do you have a wishlist?
Absolutely! I keep an Amazon Wishlist in six categories, to make it easy on anyone who might want to give me a gift. "Objects of Desire" is my general list, "Artistic Pursuits" covers makeup and art supplies, "Day to Day" includes self care and kitchen supplies, "Fashion" is just that, "Hedonism" covers edibles and adult toys, and "Required Reading" is all books. The lists include items in just about every price range, from comics to stand mixers, skin care to pocket watches, chess boards to dog beds and lipstick to truffles. It's fun to wish! What are your tips or suggestions for a male first entering in the community to get himself out there, to get noticed, and to engage in play?
Same for everyone- find the local scene, introduce yourself, learn things, ask questions (at appropriate times), go to demos, don't treat the community like Fight Club- you don't have to play your first time. You are more likely to get quality play sooner if you take some time to figure out what actually looks like a good time for you and make personal connections with the people that you're going to play with. Read some books, check out some videos, read up on negotiation and basic saftey.
Remember that we're just a group of people like any other group, so you're going to find a mix of personalities, intentions and behaviors. Get to know some people- check references, use safe calls and have as much fun as possible.

Are you a morning or night person?
Night, ever since I (or my parents) can remember. The day can bring great beauty and wonderful things, but for most of the year, I do most of my work by the moon and starlight.
If you could go on vacation for the next month with an unlimited budget, where would you go?
Western Europe. I'd go see the sights, take cooking lessons and experience as much as possible.

Which celebrity Tweeter would make you jump up and down in excitement if they mentioned, RTed, and/or followed you?
@MrTeller or @pennjillette. I know that's two, but I just can't rationally pick between them. If I must pick one person, then I'd go with @StephenFry. (I disqualified people that I actually know from the running, which made it easier.)

What is the origin of your Twitter screen name?
"Julian Wolf" is my name. The "Wolf" part doesn't appear on my drivers license; I inherited it from my former Leather Parents, the Wolf's. I took their last name in respect for them, and my family of origin.
If you could go back in time 10 years and tell your younger self something, what would it be?
You are worth being treated with respect even though you still have a lot to learn.
Who was the best teacher you've ever had?
My GT (Gifted and Talented) teacher in junior high (who later became the school librarian) changed my life for the better. Mrs. R. understood that I was different, and that being different didn't mean that I was broken. I am very grateful for her kindness and inspiration. If only I had had more like her.

What was the best job you've ever had?
I worked as an on call Standardized Patient for four years. I helped train and test medical students (doctors and nurses) several times a year. It was some of the best work I've ever done and I was heartbroken when a new program director "cleaned house" and let go of just about everyone that had been working there for more than six months.

What's the best place near you to get some ice cream?
I strongly prefer gelato, and I usually get mine at Echo Gelato in Nob Hill. (www.eccogelato.com)
What's the oldest piece of clothing you still own and wear?
I have a tee-shirt from the first grade that I wore last week. Most of my favorite pieces of clothing are older- I try to treat my clothes well and I hold on to most things with sentimental value. I recently judged a Leather Bar contest in a jersey my dad handed down to me in elementary school because it felt fun. I also have some vintage pieces from my grandmother, and a World War II army jacket from my grandfather. (Huh, it sounds like my uniform fetish started early...)
Chocolate or Vanilla?
I've said this before and will say it again: vanilla is my favorite flavor- of ice cream, caramel, desert sauce, butter-cream, soda, cookie and much more. It's a complex, exotic flavor when done right. (Chocolate is also good, and I prefer mixed with vanilla.)

If you could ask God one question what would it be?
That depends on which God I'd be asking. If I was going to ask my patron, Thoth (also known as Djehuty) I would ask if we are turning out the way he expected.
What was your favorite movie as a child?
Before 1991, I'd have to say "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," as we watched it every Saturday. In '91 the movie "Hook" came out and changed my young life. "Hook" is still one of my favorite movies.

What are you most excited about right now?
I am completely twitterpated with my newest playmate, who I nicknamed Sexy Town for reasons of clarification. We have been in similar circles for years and just connected this year. I am looking forward to more time with him, though living across the country from each other makes that a touch complicated, I am up for the challenge.
Is there a Taboo play you would never consider participating in under any circumstance?
Simple answer is no, but it's more complicated than that. There are several types of play that do not speak to me at all, and some things that I wouldn't do unless the circumstances were very specific. The circumstances would likely include Owner/property dynamics and/or a spiritual journey. I am only considering acts that involve consenting adults as taboo play. It's not play otherwise.

Do you ever receive random hate mail from strangers? If so, how do you handle it?
I do sometimes. If it actually seems like the person put any effort into it, then I'll respond. If it's the usual form-letter garbage full of expletives and/or preaching from whatever their version of God is, then I'm much more likely to simply ignore it, though for the most part, I try to respond in whatever way seems most appropriate. I've been known to quote the Bible, for example. I do not answer hate with hate. I do remain civil, but after a certain point I default to the "ignore it and it will go away" school of thought, it's never failed.

In a movie about your life, what music would you put on the soundtrack?
Unless it was terribly avant-garde or short format, I would utilize a wide variety of music- heavy on the stuff from my club days (goth/industrial/punk/ebm/glam), classic rock, and strong voices like Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Melora Creager and the like. If it was a short format, I'd go with one musical theme.

What was your first paying job?
It was either as a swing dancer in a musical or as an actor for a terrible Shakespeare in the Park production. (There's a slight chance that I was paid to baby-sit before that, but if I was, I think I got paid in pajamas, so I'm not sure that counts.)

What's your gender expression?
I'm a prince and a dandy. My head-space is about 65% masculine, 28% gender neutral and 7% feminine. I have been very blessed to be born female this time around, as I don't know that I would have survived where I was reared had I been born male. I mean that literally. I'm still happily female, I have fun parts and I use my features to my advantage.
I am queer, (and to be more specific Leather Queer) and I frequently have relationships with males that are too. I've also connected with females and 9 out of 10 times, it's been from a masculine standpoint, starting before I knew that genderqueer/fluid was a gender option.
I'm frequently asked what my pronoun preference is, and beyond always defaulting to the original neutral style (they/their/theirs) I really don't care if you "he" or "she" me, as long as you never call me Ma'am, Miss, girl, Ms, Mistress or anything in that realm. I always ask that people just call me "Julian" and if they want to use an honorific, we can negotiate that. (Syr/Sir is the most common. I also use several of the "royal" terms associated with princeliness.)
At my most overweight (now) it's harder for me to pass for a boy, but "boy" is mostly where my headspace is.
If you had to throw away either your TV or your computer, which would you choose?
TV, hands down. I rarely if ever use it for it's TV capabilities as it is. I work and socialize from my computer, so that's very important.
Where would you like to spend your retirement?
We're currently thinking about Cloudcroft, NM. I'll be happy just about anywhere my BBrother (and other family of choice) is I suspect.

Were you a Michael Jackson fan?
Yes, and still am of his work. I have "This Is It" cued up to to watch, and I almost drove to another city to see it on the big screen.
Why are you so far up your own arse?
I am self employed without additional staff therefore I am my own manager, booking and press agent among other things; I guess that could look a bit like anal play from afar...

Who's the coolest person you know?
Well, I'm about to go camping with a whole bunch of cool people. Cool-est would really depend on your definition of cool, and then I'd want categories.
Would you rather be rich or famous?
Whichever one would allow me to do the most good and make the biggest difference.

What's your favorite genre of books to read? Last book you've read?
For entertainment lately I'm really into the fun/fantasy books like the Dresden Files and the Diskworld Series. Most recently for fun I read Anne Rice's "Merrick" (first time I'd read Rice in almost a decade.) Currently, I'm reading "Jaguar Woman" by Lynn V. Andrews and have been referencing "True Magick" by Amber K for a project I'm working on.
At night do you change into a wolf?
In fact, I do not. I actually don't identify specifically with the wolf as an animal, it was my parent's name. The animal I identify with the most is a shepherd dog, specifically the Bergamasco. However, sometimes at night I do turn into a ferocious beast...

If you could be any mythological creature what would it be?
Probably a Sidhe, though I don't know as much about them as some other kinds of mythological beasts such as dragons, a variety of fae, the creatures of ancient Greece... So, well... I'll go with Dryad without further research into the Sidhe. I know that being a Dryad would mean giving up certain freedoms, but the idea of literally feeling my roots in the ground and that intimate of a connection with the Earth is very appealing.
Are you more of a talker or more of a listener?
This greatly depends on the situation. I can certainly talk and have a tendency to extrapolate and over-explain at times, but I can certainly listen. When listening, I go out of my way to make sure that I understand particularly when it's a conversation or debate. If I had to pick one I'd have to go with "talker" since that is what happens most frequently, as people tend to ask me a lot of questions.

Have you ever entered a serious relationship with someone solely on the grounds of shared tastes, then regretted it?
Sadly, yes I have had relationships such as that but I can't say that completely regret any of them- you can always learn from experience if you let yourself. Sometimes having one or many shared tastes or mutual interests isn't enough. When I was a teenager I had one or two relationships start based on the fact that we liked cloves and one started over a Batmobile-like remote controlled car. As an adult I made the mistake of entering into a few relationships because the other party shared and/or was interested enough in my tastes that we misinterpreted the chance to teach/mentor for a chance to date. In most cases the friendship lasted after the dating ended, but it was a hard lesson to learn. I have learned that lesson, and recently learned that you can have a really good time time with people who have shared tastes, and that it's ok not to turn really good times into a relationship that isn't meant to be.
Do you think black or purple gloves are sexier for the purpose of play piercing?
Nice Question! For me, it depends- though black does go with just about anything. I've never seen black not look good, though for blood fetishists, it doesn't show blood at all. On purple, it's almost brighter than on clear. If I'm playing with someone that wants to lick their blood off my fingers, then purple. If I'm bottoming, then I do have a preference that leans towards black- I think I can blame my tattoo-gun making crrreature for that.

What was your favorite birthday gift?
I've had some pretty great ones over the years, yet I am having trouble not letting the bouncy castle and cotton candy of wonder that my BBrother got me for this year's 30th not completely overshadow everything else. Since my party venue got canceled several times, we made it an extra special surprise and booked both on the Saturday night of Spring Pandemonium, the local BDSM/Leather/Fetish convention. I got to wrestle cheerleaders, watch community elders eat cotton candy, throw myself down the slide and be bounced by others playing in the castle. Such a delightful time, such a memorable birthday present.
What's the best place near you to get a drink?
I usually head over to Retro's- it's a bit of a drive, but there's free Wi-Fi, and I know the owner and the DJs. Very good prices and decent food too. Karaoke most nights makes for the perfect distraction when I work.
What was the best concert you went to?
I've been to several really good shows- but hands down the best experience has got to be my first. Nine Inch Nails with A Perfect Circle. My lover and his best friend (who was also one of my closest friends and who would become my lover about a year later) drove out to Phoenix, listening to ever album that NIN had released, and it was easily 90 degrees when we got there around midnight. We waited in line at the general admission gate for about eight hours and rushed in to find ourselves with some very good seats. The music was overwhelming in all the right ways. Tears fell where I had never seen them before and it was truly incredible. Every member of both bands seemed passionate and in the moment and the music was right on. We were flying off the energy for hours. U2, Marilyn Manson, Jane's Addiction (with NIN 10 years later) and Radiohead were also pretty darn wonderful.

Would you mind if a woman wanted to smell your shoes and feet. Have you experienced that before?
Not at all. I have some experience with that, and I've even let a few people go there. As a foot fetishist myself, I can certainly empathize.

Who's the most overrated musician?
I feel that any vocalist who doesn't have any part in the creative process isn't a musician so much as they're just a singer, so I would say those who are just lending vocals- particularly those who lip-synch during performances are very overrated.
If you could look like anybody, who would it be?
Myself, age 19. (I'm actually working toward that body type again- curves where I like them, lack of curve where I like that... much healthier, and not too far out of reach.)

What is one thing that would make you go "Wow I never thought I'd find someone who liked..." (could be as a friend or lover). If you've already found that someone, what was that one thing?
As weird and obvious as this sounds, I was very surprised when I found out that my best friend is really into pregnant women. Since he's always wanted to be married and have children, it shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. This question was difficult, because before I found the BDSM community, everything surprised me! Afterward, not so much, as I jumped so far into the deep end.

(Going to ask everyone the same question because I'm nosy like that.)What is the most awkward sexual experience you've ever had?
This one is tough. I'm going to go with the time that myself, my property, my girlfriend, my princess and I were all downstairs at the Rabbit Hole, a former abode of mine. There might have been another one or two there as well, I don't remember for sure. We had mattresses covering the living room floor, like you do, and were interacting. At some point, my boyfriend showed up on his bike. He had just biked over from the bar, where a lot of drinking had been going on. For a time, the lovely party turned into a pull my drunk boyfriend off my girlfriend who was interested in him, but not in that state. It became quite awkward to deal with that while trying to make sure that all the sexy goodness stayed sexy and good. Eventually, I lovingly walked him out the door and sent him on his way and when back downstairs to enjoy the rest of the evening. Other than that, I almost always experience some rather generic awkwardness when I start interacting with a new lover. I'm kinda a dork like that.

When was the last time you cried?
Almost two weeks ago, while helping set up "the Homestead" for my big brother crrreature, I managed to walk directly into the corner of his new fifth wheel trailer and hit my right temple very hard. It rocked the entire unit and by the time he came out, (which was quickly) it already formed a rather large bump. I cried, then sobbed for several minutes.
I really do prefer my catharsis to come from consensual and/or intentional acts, but I take what the universe gives.

I think that is a marketing ploy.
I also feel that if you are in a relationship where you have negotiated that your boyfriend shouldn't be interacting with people in a specific manner, and he is, you should get a new boyfriend, not boost the porn career of someone.

In Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" dissident factions thwart the government's attempt to eradicate the written word by becoming it -- each person choosing a book special to them and memorizing it, able to recite it word-for-word on request. When Sarah Palin'
merocrush verified that the question should have read: "In Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" people thwart government's attempts to eradicate books by memorizing them -- each person choosing one special to them and memorizing it, able to recite it word-for-word on request. Which book will you choose and why?"
This is both a wonderful and a very tough question. My automatic response is to chose the biggest and best book on the world's mythology so that we wouldn't lose those stories. Those books do tend to be fairly dry, but it would be my hope that the stories would live on as people retell them. Part of me feels that books on medicinal herbs or first aid might be more important, but assuming that it is a 451 world, science and medicine still exist. If I were to chose a non-fiction book, I'd be tempted to go with "Lord of the Rings" (Tolken wrote it as one book with three parts, the publishers decided to split it into three) as it is such a complete universe. All of this being said, I'm not particularly good at word-for-word memorization. Monologues were always the biggest challenge for me when I was pursuing acting.
Also, love the question, Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorite books.

If you had to have a human pet or a bio-pet which would you choose and why?
Human. I'm in the market actually, assuming that I get to pick the pet in either case. Specifically, I'm in the market for an outside cat*, but am taking offers of other fuzzy varieties. The thing about non-human pets is that they can be very expensive, they can't talk to you/explain when something is wrong, they rarely bring in their own income and then they die after a few years. Human pets can have so many uses, many of which are the same thing that non-human pets offer. I'm personally shopping for a snuggley cuddle beast who can also be engaging for such things as conversation and general companionship including travel and such. Other things on the table are BDSM, training, performance art, co-topping... yeah. The other nice thing about a human pet is that it can be as full or part time as you negotiate. (For the student pets negotiation can be each semester.) Non-human pets are full time, that doesn't work as well for someone who travels as much as I like to. Great Question!

Have you ever had sex on the beach or in the water?
I have tried water sex, but not to great results. Lubrication can be surprisingly scarce when submerged. Playing around in water, however is great fun, and I have had good water and S&M scenes.
The beach, however I haven't experienced at all. I was reared in a land-locked area and don't have an affinity for beaches, so I haven't sought it out in my adult hood. Streams and creeks- if the areas surrounding them count as beaches then I'll hopefully have more interesting things to report this summer.

What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you while in a scene?
It happened during an interrogation scene. My former princess and I would frequently do scenes based on the fantasy roll of royal prince and princess, as opposed to the real-life archetypes that we both frequently embody. For this interrogation, I was the son of the wealthy over-lord king and she was the daughter of one of the lesser-kingdom's royalty. There was a big meeting with all the surrounding kingdoms, and she had stolen the crown jewels from a monarch she had seduced.
Quick back story- I am a prince identified female playing a male for this scenario, and she is a transgender (MTF) princess.
During the heavy question portion of the interrogation, I called her mother a spineless whore or something similar, and she responded immediately with "The women in my family have bigger balls than the men in yours."
I glared a her, sighed, and then turned my back. fortunately, I had the Lady Petronella my service and she was able to keep a straight face as I stared into her eyes and tried not to crack up- or show any sign of cracking up to the princess behind me. It was amazing.
Oh, and by the way, I won and she told us where the jewels where- I just had to use fire on her chest for a bit and then threaten to burn hair.

What do you do when you are feeling lonely?
I have a variety of things that I try to use, including getting out of the house, even if for a quick movie or to head out to karaoke. I also try to busy myself and use my CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) training to remind myself how alone I'm really not.
Lately, I've also talked to some friends about the impromptu phone call, that's something I'm shied from in the past- my whole formality complex. I've never done the "open house" thing and have a hard time realizing that that is exactly what many people want and enjoy. Just because I prefer a schedule doesn't mean that many of my friends don't mind a "hello, want to hang out?"
When I let the lonely really get to me, I just wind up being incredibly unproductive until I pull myself out of it.
Oh, but the best is to say "I Need Loving On!" and have crrreature, my companion or one of my friends rub my head or hug on me for a bit. Sometimes, I feel lonely even if they're around.

That depends on your definition of ghost. I do have beliefs that could be classified as supernatural (or superstitious, depending) but I haven't experienced anything myself that I would personally define as a ghost. So, depending on your definition of ghost, I either do or do not believe.

Star Wars Episodes 4-6 were a very significant part of my childhood. I don't hate Episodes 1-3, but I'm not watching any of them regularly, though the Clone Wars is in my cue to watch in the near future.
Star Trek is also a universe that I really get into, and I watch everything from TNG on with some regularity. Good stuff.

I am just as in love with Pink Floyd ad the Beatles as I ever have been, but I haven't been one to pull out albums or even listen to specific radio stations as of late. When I do put on music, it's local radio KUNM.org while driving, or one of my Pandora stations. Lately, I've been doing "Calmish Woo-Woo" and "Mellow Mood Music" on Pandora, and keeping myself company with shows like "No Reservations" and "Fraggle Rock" when I'm at home working alone.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
Fresh fruits and vegetables, mushrooms included. I can do anything with fruits and veggies, and I would love to have an endless supply- as long as there is variety. If I could try veg from different areas of the world every week, I would in a heart beat.
